Hip Hop is Pinehill Studios most popular children’s dance class. It is a dance program that allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement, expressing and exploring their unique creativity.
Hip Hop students are building on the basic Hip Hop technique to popular and age appropriate music. The levels are beginner, intermediate and advanced and once our students have mastered the skills in their level they move up to the next allowing them to develop their skills at their own pace.
Hip Hop Classes Explained
Recreational
Hip Hop at recreational/beginner level focuses on connection, confidence, fundamental movement, building friendships & FUN… Dancers will work towards small inhouse events, showcases, Halloween & St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This is a 45min/60min once a week option.
ickle Bopperz – Is a class for our preschoolers who are 3-4 years and about to get ready to start pre-school. The music for this class is fun and familiar to them and expands on the techniques learned by our younger classes. We do some warming up, stretching, progressions across the room as well as putting together a dance for the showcase.
Development Programme
After our in-class assessments Dancers can be invited to our development program to further enhance their dancing skillset, with technique based classes focusing on visual & performance dance to offer further opportunities in theatre settings & community dance projects. This is a 90min class once a week.
Competitive Programme
Dancers are welcome to participate at competition level once qualified to our Development Programme & can compete nationally as a solo and/or with a partner. At this level Dancers must train a minimum of 3 hours per week, x1 dev class & x1 solo/doubles class.
Crew Programme
Competitive Dance Teams are referred to as Crew, dancers must audition ANNUALLY for their position in crew. At this level dancers must train a minimum of 4.5hrs per week, x1 dev class, x1 solo/doubles class & x1 crew class. Crew class is a choreography class focusing on technique specific to what judges will award points for at competition.
